BFT Food Pantry
In partnership with the Houston Food Bank, we are here to serve community members in need. Learn more about the pantry programs available, sign up to volunteer with us, or check our availability to make a food pantry appointment.
HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY ARE PREVALENT IN THIS COMMUNITY. HERE IS HOW WE RESPOND:
-
Curbside Relief Pantry
Our relief pantry addresses food insecurity and hunger by providing a curb side distribution every Tuesday from 12-4 to those who qualify. We consider it a privilege to serve our community. However, to run an efficient pantry, clients must make an appointment, show up at the assigned date and time, and wait in the car. We will then come out and serve them.
-
Food for Change Pantry
As a Food for Change pantry, we distribute groceries twice per month at no cost to clients enrolled in educational, health, and economic initiatives using their scholarship cards. This responds to the root cause of hunger by strategically layering food assistance with programs and services to help individuals achieve their life goals. Please contact us if you have a Food for Change or Food Rx scholarship card to make an appointment.
-
Senior Box Program
The Senior Box Program is a federally funded national food distribution effort. We provide a box of food the 1st Wednesday of every month with an average retail value of $50 to low-income seniors 60 years of age or older. Applicants will be asked to provide ID, their age, income, and residency information. The total monthly income for a household of 1 must be $1,632 or less and for a household of 2 - $2,215 or less.

Hunger Education
Every summer, we partner with churches and other organizations to host groups of kids so they can learn about hunger and food insecurity. Our classes revolve around the recommendations of the US Department of Agriculture and include stats from Feeding America. Not only are we raising awareness about hunger here in our local community, but we explain why pantries like ours are important.
