Back to School

Bridging For Tomorrow is getting ready to launch our school year programs!

Back-to-school can cause added stress and anxiety for families already facing financial difficulty. You can help support the needs in our community by participating in our annual shoe drive or by volunteering in our upcoming youth programs.

Families in need turn to BFT - and we turn to you!

NEW SHOES

Shoes that fit and are in good condition are a part of every back-to-school shopping list, but not all families can afford them. Throughout the months of July and August, Bridging For Tomorrow is collecting new shoes for students in the community who would otherwise go without. New shoes give students the confidence they need to show up to school eager to learn!

Volunteer With Us

You can make a difference in the life of a child by joining Bridging For Tomorrow’s team of dedicated volunteers and serving in one of our programs described below:

Reading Club (Kinder-5th Grade)

One of the challenges many kids in our community face is that they lack requisite reading skills and the resources to improve them. To provide a solution, students have the opportunity to take part in the BFT Reading Club. Volunteers will spend time reading selected books and engaging in open discussion to improve reading and reading comprehension skills. Reading Club meets in person at the BFT Community Center weekly (1 Hour Weekly).

Homework Assistance (1st -8th Grade)

Provide support and encouragement to 1st through 8th grade students with their academic goals through one-on-one assistance with homework assignments in various subjects. Subjects includes science, math, reading comprehension, language arts, and history.  Volunteers meet with their students at BFT for an hour each week during the calendar year (1 Hour Weekly).

Thrive Group (6th -12th Grade)

Thrive Group is for students in middle school and high school. They have the opportunity to meet up for in person community and socialization. Students will use this group to meet new friends, share advice, receive feedback, and learn new skills to help them through the school year. (1 Hour Weekly).
